We are seeking a creative, strategic, and results-driven Social Media Strategist to lead the development and execution of integrated social media programs for clients across higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, public affairs, and corporate sectors. This role blends content strategy, influencer and community engagement, reputation management, community building, and analytics to help clients achieve measurable business and communications objectives. This individual will work closely with our full spectrum of talent across each vertical we offer, and particularly with our paid media and communications teams.
The ideal candidate understands how social media intersects with earned media, influencer marketing, advertising, executive thought leadership, and brand storytelling.

Social Strategy & Planning
- Develop comprehensive social media strategies aligned with client business goals and communications objectives
- Create annual, quarterly, and campaign-specific social media plans
- Identify audience segments, content themes, channel strategies, and engagement opportunities
- Stay ahead of platform trends and emerging technologies
Client Engagement and Business Development
- Connect with clients about their challenges and opportunities
- Help sell our capabilities to new clients
Content Development
- Build editorial calendars across platforms including: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit
- Write and edit compelling social content and, ultimately, oversee a broader team.
- Collaborate with designers, videographers, and content creators to produce engaging assets.
- Develop executive thought leadership content for client leaders.
Influencer & Creator Relations
- Identify and vet influencers, creators, subject matter experts, and brand advocates
- Manage influencer outreach, negotiations, contracts, and reporting
- Develop creator partnership programs that align with client objectives
- Track influencer performance and ROI
Community Management
- Monitor conversations and engage with online communities
- Manage audience interactions and customer inquiries
- Support crisis communications and reputation management efforts
- Escalate sensitive issues appropriately
Paid Social Collaboration
- Partner with digital advertising teams to develop paid social campaigns
- Recommend targeting strategies and audience segmentation
- Analyze performance and optimize campaigns
- Support budget planning and reporting
Analytics & Reporting
- Track KPIs including: Reach, Engagement, Follower growth, Website traffic, Lead generation, Conversions, Share of voice
- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports
- Translate data into actionable recommendations for clients
Client Leadership
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact
- Lead social media strategy presentations and workshops
- Educate clients on emerging trends and platform updates
- Provide strategic recommendations tied to business outcomes
Experience, Skills, Knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or related field
- 6-10 years of social media strategy experience; agency environment is a plus
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience developing content across multiple social platforms
- Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools
- Experience working directly with clients and presenting recommendations
