UPMC life-changing care … on the farm.

We made hay while the sun was shining to show and tell how one patient in rural Maryland was able to get the critical care he needed.

When Mitchell suffered a traumatic brain injury, his wife Sara couldn’t imagine a life without his quiet strength. This campaign captured that strength as well as this family of six’s close-knit, purpose-driven life — while highlighting the advanced care right in Western Maryland that saved Mitchell’s life.

Building a better brand.

Maybe change begins with a new brand, but there’s usually a bigger picture.

Change can be good. A few years ago, change meant helping The Pittsburgh Foundation with a new brand that better spoke to their diverse audience. A few months ago, it meant adding iconography, patterns, and palettes to increase engagement and awareness as the Foundation moves to a new space, hosts more events, and becomes even more public facing. It’s all “For a greater Pittsburgh” after all.

Kids need care.

GH has partnered with UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation for years. They raise funds for the care and research that helps kids in the region and all over the world to have healthier futures. With our most recent campaign, we highlighted compelling stories and real children for whom donors can make a significant impact “At this moment.”

Getting closer to our community.

When we volunteer with coworkers (who are also friends), inadvertent team building ensues. Call it a happy accident, we call it unforced fun.

Here’s a look at some team volunteer opportunities that have brought us closer to each other while bringing out the best in each of us. New volunteer experiences are on the horizon before we wrap up the year. We can’t wait.

Hilltop Urban Farm

We got to work with shovels, wheelbarrows, mulch, and more as we cleared plots of land that would soon grow crops for neighborhood food banks.

Allegheny GoatScape

Allegheny GoatScape uses actual goats to clear overgrown vegetation and restore land without harmful herbicides. Team GH was on goat-support duty, which means we used manual tools to cut away vines and taller brush that the goats couldn’t reach. We weren’t as cute as the goats, but we did our best.
